School meal provider, ISS Education, has partnered with School Food Matters to deliver a food growing grants programme for schools.
ISS Food Growing Grants
To show their commitment to food education, the good folk at ISS asked us to put together a programme of support for schools to get them growing! Whether a seasoned food grower or a complete novice, we understand that all schools need a helping hand and our Food Growing Grants programme offers schools the following:
- a grant of £250 per academic year
- discounts at local garden suppliers
- a FREE training session with TV horticulturist, Chris Collins along with a copy of his book 'Grow your own for Kids'
The programme began in Richmond in 2012 and has since extended to Southwark, Lambeth, Redbridge and Bracknell. Over 140 schools have benefitted from the support and nearly 500 teachers and children have received expert training from Chris Collins. This winning partnership was recognised in 2015 when we were awarded the PFM: Partners in Education award.
