Manifestos are out
The manifestos are out and they're all talking about school food. Whatever the offer, the food must meet the school food standards.
The Conservatives are backing an end to universal infant free school meals in favour of free breakfasts for all primary school children, whilst Labour and Lib Dems are planning an extension of the universal lunch offer to all primary school children. School Food Standards apply to food across the whole school day - which means breakfast, lunch and after school clubs - so we'll be watching with our friends within the Save our School Food Standards coalition to insure that the food offered is not just free but healthy and nutritionally balanced.
