Fresh Enterprise at Belazu
Our brand new Fresh Enterprise project got off to flying start with students from Cardinal Wiseman School learning about the power of fresh ingredients at Belazu.
Stage one of the programme is to understand the journey from a fresh ingredient to the tasty sauce on the supermarket shelf. Students toured Belazu's hi-tech production area and met some of the people behind the products. From olive buyers to development chefs to the food processing team and all the way to the warehouse, marketing and sales, this tour opened up a whole wealth of career opportunities in food.
Next step is to look more deeply into labelling and marketing before coming back to Belazu to work with development chef Ross to taste ingredients and create a product. You can find out more here.

Last Friday, 72 lucky children from four schools in Scotland headed out to Craigie's Farm to harvest fresh fruit and veg, as part of our Schools to Market programme.
We love the Department of Health's School Fruit and Veg Scheme and we'd love it more if it could be pesticide-free!
