Free school meals for all primary school children?
Many of you on Easter holidays may have missed the pledge from the Labour Party to make school meals free to all primary school children.
This is great news for families and for children's health and attainment. This article from the Guardian explains why this announcement has been welcomed by children's health campaigners, despite a mixed reception from some teachers and the independent school sector who will be raising the cash for the scheme by charging VAT on school fees.
