Creative cooking sessions for our member schools
Last week two of our lucky member schools welcomed renowned chefs into their kitchens for Cooking Ideas sessions.
Our long-time ambassador chef Tom Aikens joined Charlton Manor Primary in their fantastic teaching kitchen to cook courgette and basil muffins as well as tasty herb tarts. Charlton Manor won the session at our birthday picnic back in June, where Tom deemed their tasty picnic treats as the best of the bunch.
Meanwhile, up in Blackburn, our secondary school members Witton Park Academy welcomed chef patron Nigel Haworth from luxury country house, Northcote. The keen Year 11 GCSE food students put their skills to the test to create two Michelin-inspired dishes, Lancashire cheese soufflé and organic cabbage and shellfish fondue.
Thanks again to Tom and Nigel for taking time out of their busy schedules to inspire the next generation of young chefs.

Borough Market traders were given a run for their money yesterday when four local schools set up shop for the third year of the Young Marketeers Winter Sale.
Chef Chantelle Nicholson of Tredwells stepped out of the kitchen to share her love of fresh seasonal veg with students from Grey Court School.
