In February, the Mayor of London announced that all children in the capital’s primary schools will receive free lunches for one year from September 2023. We celebrate this extension, which will assure quality nutrition for thousands of children.
Feeding so many children, and feeding them well, is no mean feat. Thankfully, there are lots of amazing people and organisations working hard to deliver delicious, nutritious and sustainable food across London.
One such organisation is Chefs in Schools, which has developed a ‘toolbox’ of insights from those who work in school kitchens every day. The toolbox will help kitchen teams prepare for a new influx of hungry mouths, and help schools support their teams to deliver the best food they can.
You can find the toolbox here.
